Troubleshooting

The app asks me to pay, but I already have a plan

If the app asks you to choose a plan even though you pay for one, it’s almost always signed in to a different account from the one with your plan.

Short answer: Sign out in the app (Settings › Account › Sign out) and sign in with the email address and password you use on our website. If you use Sign in with Apple, choose Link account when the app asks “Already a customer?”.
Why it happens

Two accounts by accident

The usual cause is Sign in with Apple, especially with Hide My Email: Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one, so we can’t match it to your plan. The app then asks Already a customer? If Create a new account was chosen instead of Link account, you end up with a second, empty account.

The fix

Sign in to the right account

  1. In the app, open Settings › Account and select Sign out.
  2. Sign in with the email address and password you use at the client area. Forgotten it? Reset your password.
  3. Prefer Sign in with Apple? Use it again and, when asked Already a customer?, choose Link account and enter your TekLan VPN email address and password, so it finds your plan from then on.

Still asked to pay? Check the plan is active in the client area; if an invoice is overdue, see my service is suspended.

Questions

Frequently asked

Will I be charged twice?

No. Signing in to the right account doesn’t buy anything. Just don’t subscribe again on the empty account.

I already subscribed twice by mistake. What now?

Cancel the extra subscription in your Apple Account, and tell the billing team if you need help.
