Browser extension
Install TekLan VPN in Vivaldi
Vivaldi is built on Chromium and installs Chrome Web Store extensions directly, including TekLan VPN.
TekLan extension for Vivaldi
Install from the Chrome Web Store
The extension protects browsing inside Vivaldi. It does not route traffic from other applications on the computer.
The current Chrome Web Store version is 3.1.0.
Before you begin
- Update Vivaldi to a current version.
- Turn off Vivaldi’s built-in VPN if you use it, so only TekLan routes your browsing.
- Have your TekLan VPN email address and password ready.
- Disable any other VPN or proxy extension while testing TekLan.
Complete the setup
- Open the TekLan VPN listing in the Chrome Web Store in Vivaldi.
- Select Add to Chrome (Vivaldi installs Chrome extensions this way), review the permissions and confirm with Add extension.
- Select the Extensions icon in the address bar and keep TekLan VPN visible in the toolbar.
- Open TekLan VPN, sign in with your TekLan VPN email address and password, choose a location and connect.
Good to know
- TekLan VPN does not run in private windows. Use a normal window for VPN browsing.
Check the connection
- Open the TekLan extension and confirm it reports an active connection.
- Reload the current tab.
- Open a public IP-checking website in Vivaldi and confirm the address changes.
- Remember that the extension protects Vivaldi traffic only.
If it does not connect
- Confirm TekLan VPN is enabled at vivaldi://extensions.
- Make sure Vivaldi’s own VPN is switched off.
- Disable conflicting VPN, proxy or privacy extensions.
- Sign out, restart Vivaldi and sign in again.
- Confirm your email address and password work by signing in to the client area in a private browsing window.
